Practicing in Community

A free, one-hour practice session alongside other musicians.

Practicing is usually the loneliest part of being a musician. Practicing in Community turns it into something you can look forward to.

Practicing in Community is the part of Hitz Academy that's open to everyone. Musicians log on and practice together, separately but alongside one another. You bring your own material and your own goals. The group brings the structure and the accountability.

How a Session Works

1. Get a tip

I open with a quick practicing tip.

2. Share a goal

Everyone posts one goal for the session in the chat.

3. Practice

About 45 minutes of focused practice on your own material.

4. Share a win

At the end, anyone who wants to can share a win.

Why It Works

Because our mics are off, no one hears you play a single note. That's why it works for a lifelong amateur practicing alongside a professional, or a professional working on something brand new. Every so often, some of the best players in the world join us to share a tip and practice along with us.
