Band Director's Guide
For the band director who never stops learning
Band Director's Guide Series
The first two volumes of the Band Director's Guide Series are now available from Hitz Publications! Each volume is filled with interviews with some of the best players and teachers in the world including Joe Alessi, Ralph Sauer, Lance LaDuke, Sam Pilafian, Pat Sheridan and Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser.
"Andrew Hitz’s Band Director’s Guide to Everything Tuba is a must read for band directors of all experience levels working with every age of student. Even the most experienced educators will find the text pedagogically groundbreaking…challenging some of our most basic assumptions and forcing us to approach our teaching in ways different than the way we were taught. This valuable resource demystifies the tuba in a way that no instrumental methods course could hope to approach and I look forward to reading future volumes in this outstanding series."
—Chip de Stefano, Director of Bands at McCracken Middle School and Member of the NBA Board of Directors
Both volumes are available as ebooks or audiobooks. The audiobooks are narrated by me and include a lot of bonus material.
This series will eventually feature a volume for every instrument in the band. The trumpet book will be available this summer and feature interviews with Ryan Anthony, Robert Sullivan, Jens Lindemann and many more!
